Air Force PFA
The Air Force Physical Fitness Assessment, or PFA, evaluates an Airmen’s overall fitness and includes 3 parts. Part 1 includes a choice between standard pushups or hand-release push-ups and measures muscular strength. Part 2 measures core endurance and is a choice between sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunches, or a plank for time. The final exercise is a timed 1.5-mile run measuring cardiorespiratory fitness.
The PFA has 3 scoring categories: excellent, satisfactory, and unsatisfactory. You must achieve a passing score on each exercise and a total score > 75 points to pass the test.
