Naval Special Warfare PST

To quality for BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/ SEAL Training), you must first pass the Naval Special Warfare Physical Screening Test (PST). This test consists of a 500-Yard Swim, Push-ups, Sit-Ups, Pull-Ups, and a 1.5 Mile Run.

You will have a 10-minute rest period after completion of the swim and again prior to the beginning of the run. You will receive 2-minutes of rest after each calisthenic exercise. At the end of the rest, you must begin the next exercise immediately, excessive rest (starting the next exercise more than 30 seconds after the last rest) will constitute failure for the whole test.

  • Push-ups

As many reps as possible in 02:00 minutes

  • Sit-Ups

As many reps as possible in under 02:00 minutes

  • Pull-ups

As many reps as possible in under 02:00 minutes

Navy PFT

Naval Special Warfare is very competitive, and a passing score will not guarantee admittance into the BUD/S program.

There are multiple programs within NSW -SEAL, SWCC, EOD, Navy Diver, and Air Rescue Swimmer and passing standards for each test vary. Candidates will need to possess exceptional talent in both endurance and strength to be successful in a program.
